Working on some new wooden swing set ideas. Currently writing up some new plans. My daughter thinks it would be cool if part of it was build into one of those play houses. She wants the works even a dog door for our dog. Once I get the time Ill be posting up the basic blueprints. Im going to go all out on this wooden swing set. Just need the time :P.

When choosing a wooden swing set there are some key features you need to look for.

Safety.... When looking for or building a swing set for my kids that is the first thing on my list. Sharp edges from the posts or from the seat itself. How is it secured to the ground? Very important if your buying a cheap wooden swing set. Usually when buying a wooden swing set kit you can easily improvise when securing it to the ground. I use cement to secure the posts, just like you would for a fence. I do this because I remember being a kid on a cheap swing set and it just sucks when you think the whole thing is going to take off.

Accessories... When buying a swing set a wooden swing sets accessory includes things like a jungle gym, slide and a plastic tire.

Building.... You can save a lot of money if you build it yourself. On the internet you can find a free plan for wooden swing set. These are good but if you aren't very handy I would recommend against this. If you are intent on saving the money buy a wooden swing set kit and improvise it according to your own needs.
